9 July 2013 - An emission-busting deal has been agreed for Prins Autogas UK, the distributor of Prins Autogassystemen BV based in the Netherlands, to convert a fleet of HGVs for Howard Tenens, one of the largest family-owned logistics companies in the UK. Howard Tenens is an industry pioneer having been running its operations using compressed natural gas (CNG) and renewable fuel bio methane for approaching five years. It has now chosen Southampton-based Prins Autogas UK to equip 35 new vehicles with the carbon-reducing green technology.
The partnership was sealed after an eight-month trial of two HGVs running on Prins’ Dieselblend-2.0 system demonstrating ultra-reliability and the ability to shrink CO2 emissions by up to 50 per cent. Prins Dieselblend system can replace up to 55 per cent diesel with CNG or LNG and up to 30 per cent diesel with LPG. Its technology has international back-up thanks to Prins’ global reach, with established distribution channels in over 50 countries.
The fleet is a mix of 4x2 and 6x2 vehicles and the first vehicle is set to roll off the conversion facilities in Southampton at the end of July, with the job expected to be completed by September.
